Ceramic filters – filtration for hot flue gases and demanding applications
Ceramic filters are a highly efficient solution for the filtration of flue gases and process gases at extreme temperatures. They are designed for operations where conventional filter materials fail, and reliably capture even submicron particles (PM<2.5µm). With ceramic filters, particulate matter emissions can be achieved below 1 mg/m³. Ceramic filters are also suitable for operation in chemically aggressive environments. At such high flue gas temperatures, it is possible to use heat recovery technology and its subsequent use in operation.
How do ceramic filters work?
Ceramic filters are solid filter cartridges made of porous ceramic or mineral fiber. The gas passes through the porous structure of the filter, where particulate matters are trapped on the surface and inside the material. Thanks to the high temperature resistance and stability of ceramic fibers, the filtration efficiency is maintained even at extreme temperatures and variable conditions. In the catalytic version, active catalytic layers are applied to the filter surface, which enable the simultaneous reduction of NOx, SO2, HCl, dioxins and PM during a single filtration process. This significantly reduces the number of devices required and optimizes operating and investment costs.
Why choose DEPURO ceramic filters?
- Particulate matters emissions at the outlet below 1 mg/m³, capture of PM2.5 particles.
- Resistance to high temperatures - operating temperatures up to 700 °C, short-term up to 900 °C.
- Chemical stability - almost inert material resistant to corrosion and changes in operating conditions.
- The ceramic body of the filter elements ensures many years of service life.
- Possibility of catalytic design - in one device, PM filtration and reduction of gaseous pollutants:
- NOx > 90%
- SO2 > 90%
- HCl > 95%
- dioxins > 99%
- Turnkey solution - design, delivery and optimization of filtration technology for specific applications.
