Fire Risk Minimization
- Level sensors in spark arrestors – prevent operation in case of clogging or overfilling of the collection container.
- Vibration systems for filter hoppers – periodic shaking of hopper walls reduces dust buildup that could become a fire source.
- Explosion and backflow dampers – prevent the spread of pressure waves and flames to other parts of the system in case of an explosion.
- Silos and containers with explosion vents – safely release pressure into the surrounding space during sudden overpressure.
Fire Deflection
- Temperature measurement and evaluation at key points of the filter and hoppers.
- CO concentration monitoring before and after the filter with real-time value comparison.
- Spark detectors in ducts before the filter – identify the presence of glowing particles that could ignite a fire.
- Infrared flame detectors installed inside filters and hoppers to confirm fire occurrence directly.
Fire Responce
- Rapid filter shut-off using flaps to prevent oxygen access and stop the chimney draft effect of the fan.
- Filling the filter with an inert gas (e.g., nitrogen or argon) to extinguish the fire.
- Direct connection to a fire extinguisher for safe internal extinguishing without opening the equipment.
System Integration
Fire protection systems are supplied either as standalone units or as part of comprehensive dust extraction, filtration, and conveying solutions. The design is based on actual operating conditions, the risks of the specific application, and applicable standards (e.g., ATEX).
