How do fabric filters work?
The polluted air flow passes through the filter fabric, where solid particles are captured on the fibers. The process takes place in three stages:
1. The particles are captured on the surface of the fibers of the front layer.
2. The particles cluster in the middle part of the fabric.
3. Finally, they form a so-called filter cake on the surface, which further increases the efficiency of dust capture.
As the cake gradually accumulates, the pressure loss increases, which is why it is necessary to regularly regenerate the filter material, i.e. remove the deposited dust and restore the filtration ability. This principle allows very low output concentrations to be achieved and at the same time ensures a long filter life.
The result is high filtration efficiency even for fine particles, while the filter pressure loss and the regeneration method have a fundamental impact on operating costs.
